Lots of basketball - Emily's Birthday

Emily has a week off and is down visiting family near Sudbury. She should be getting lots of time to spend at the cottage which is a great place to relax. She will be starting up work at Kingfisher again soon when she comes back. Tomorrow (the 4th of September) is Emily’s birthday so the next time you see her wish her a happy birthday.

Lately I’ve been feeling physically restless when I get home from school. I’ve got the urge to go out and do something physical. This Friday there was a middle school party but I had to go to my usual Friday basketball game at the school after. I ended up playing with one other guy in some 1-on-1 full court. Basically it was just an excuse to run up and down the court.

After basketball I went to Rob’s house (my boss) for the Middle School party. Lots of the usual stuff – silly dancing, good snacks, etc – but this time everyone got thrown into the pool. Rob’s cell phone got wet, some wallets got wet, but I had stealthily changed into my swimsuit when things started getting interesting so when it was my turn to go in it wasn’t too much of a hardship.

I’ve been feeling better about my Spanish lately. I’ve understood more and I’ve actually learned to conjugate things more-or-less correctly. I had a Spanish lesson yesterday and then I raced back down South to play in a basketball game in a neighborhood nearby. There were 15 guys playing so the number were perfect and my team kept winning (not so much due to me) so we stayed on the court for a long time.

I played basketball again this morning in a tournament that my school is signed up for. The other team only had one guy show so it ended up being 3-on-3. I’ve got a wicked headache right now which I think is due to spending so much time in contact lenses over the past three days. I need a day off from them.

Jessie wrote me the other day. The Canadian-Indian governments are going through a stink and thus, she and her colleagues have not been able to get their VISAs to go to Bangalore. Surely a frustrating situation but it makes for a good story to say that you were used as a pawn in an international political situation.

School starts up again tomorrow. Oh BOY!
